Gin Club with Plymouth Gin
The next event in our Gin Club calendar is truly close to our Bristolian hearts, not only for its nautical roots, but for the fact that it’s widely heralded as one of the most approachable and versatile gins in the world!
Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you Gin Club with Plymouth Gin!
Wednesday April 20th
Produced at the oldest working distillery in England, Plymouth is made using the naturally soft water from Dartmoor and botanicals including Juniper berry, coriander seed, angelica root, lemon peel, sweet orange peel, orris root and green cardamom. It’s one of the few listed products specified in the first ever Savoy cocktail book, included in the White Lady, Bronx and Dry Martini.
We’ll be joined on Wednesday 20th April by Plymouth’s brand ambassador Lizzie Lerwill, who will be on hand to impart her unrivalled knowledge on this classic spirit, as well as regaling us with stories of the original Plymouth Navy strength gin, which was distilled to a higher strength of 57% – ensuring gunpowder would still light in the midst of battle if any of the spirit was spilled!
